Vince McMahon took a medial leave when he had spinal surgery, but that break didn’t last long. Vince McMahon is already back and making remote changes to WWE programming, and that is not ideal for many Superstars.
This week’s episode of WWE RAW saw several changes this week. It was later reported by Sean Sapp that Vince McMahon also made few remote changes to SmackDown last week, but they were noted as minor.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that there was hope that Vince McMahon wouldn’t return to creative. They were “basically” told that Triple H was going to be running the show, but now McMahon has returned.
“Talent noted to us that Levesque had been in charge of creative and they hoped with the new company that Vince would stay out of it. Basically they were told it was going to be Levesque in charge of creative with the new company and now Vince was back.”
Ringside News exclusively reported that Vince McMahon actually started making changes “just a few days after his surgery.” It seems that Vince McMahon really can’t stay out of WWE business.
Ringside News exclusively reported at the beginning of August that Vince McMahon was “supposed to be” staying away from work, but no one in the creative team “really thinks that will last.”
Vince McMahon’s role in WWE will apparently not change, as he is able to make remote changes at any time he wants. Triple H is still the Chief Content Officer for the company, but it appears that his arrangement with his father-in-law has not changed.
