WrestleMania 40 is now in WWE’s rear-view as the company’s next event is now Backlash. However, fans are more excited for SummerSlam this year and it appears the Cincinnati Bengals tried to get WWE to hold SummerSlam at the Paycor Stadium.
WWE SummerSlam is considered another big extravaganza for the company as a part of their renowned Big 4 shows. Over the years, it has produced some of the most exciting and enthralling moments for the global juggernaut.
Hamilton County Administrator Jeff Alutto revealed, as reported by Ben Baby, that the Cincinnati Bengals had shown interest in hosting WWE SummerSlam at Paycor Stadium, the team’s home field. Alutto mentioned that the Bengals reached out to WWE multiple times to explore the possibility of hosting the high-profile wrestling event. However, the response from WWE was less than enthusiastic.
“They did reach out several times,” Alutto said. “They said they didn’t call back.”
The Bengals’ initiative to host SummerSlam at Paycor Stadium could have been a significant opportunity, bringing together the energy of the NFL with WWE’s massive entertainment appeal.
With SummerSlam having been held in some of the most prestigious arenas and stadiums over its 36-year history, all eyes will be on Cleveland to see how this year’s event will captivate fans around the world.
