NXT Tag Team Championships: Andre Chase and Duke Hudson vs. Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo

Chase almost secured a pinfall with a Magistral Cradle. He then countered Stack’s Magistral with another rollup. Tony D’Angelo tagged in and delivered an Atomic Drop to Chase. Tony landed stiff punches on both opponents. Hudson tagged in and scored a near fall with a Big Boot on Tony D. Chase sent Tony D to the ringside area. Hudson followed up with a backdrop on Stacks. Tony D dumped both Chase U members to ringside and then executed a hip toss on Stacks, diving onto Chase U. The show transitioned to a picture-in-picture format.

They Irish whip Chase into the corner, but Chase counters with a well-placed boot to Tony and skillfully evades Channing. Chase then sends Channing to the floor and proceeds to land punches on Tony. Following that, Chase executes a side Russian leg sweep, setting the stage for his trademark C-H-A-S-E-U stomp. However, to Chase’s surprise, the rest of his students decide to vacate the scene. Undeterred, Chase continues to pummel Channing on the outside.

Tony seizes the opportunity and rolls Chase into an inside cradle for a near fall. Tony follows up with a spinebuster and tags in Channing. Tony also delivers a kick that sends Duke to the floor. The duo combines their efforts and executes the Bada Bing Bada Boom finisher, securing the three-count.

Tozawa chimes in, suggesting that without Alpha Academy’s involvement, he would have the cup by now.

Lash defends their actions, asserting that they did nothing wrong. Otis, in his unique style, sides with Lash, stating that whatever she says is good in his book and playfully moving his body in unconventional ways.

Oro tries to maintain order and urges them to listen to Noam’s words. Maxxine interjects, asking not to be spoken to in a condescending manner. Tensions rise, and Chad takes charge, issuing a “Shoooosh” to settle things down. He acknowledges Noam’s point that he’s synonymous with the Heritage Cup.

Noam asserts that there’s no one who can beat him, and they had to search all over the world to find a challenger for him. Chad reveals that he can make Noam’s life easier and announces that he has the perfect challenger for Noam.

Noam considers the proposal and suggests that if the challenger isn’t ready for the match tonight, they can schedule it for next week. He inquires about the challenger’s identity. Maxxine reveals that their chosen challenger is a former Olympian and a former tag team champion, shocking Noam with the news.

The broadcast heads to a commercial break.

The broadcast returns with a glimpse of the Xia Li Warrior’s Tea Ceremony.

Xia warmly welcomes Lyra and requests that she don the appropriate attire for the ceremony. Lyra expresses her surprise, mentioning that she has never been invited to an event like this before.

Xia explains that this ceremony is a way for her to honor her rivals before combat, a tradition passed down from her ancestors. She emphasizes that a deep bow signifies deep respect, a gesture that Lyra didn’t expect from Xia.

Xia shares that her warrior spirit has been awakened in recent months, and she wants to make her presence felt.

Lyra acknowledges that Xia has indeed accomplished that goal.

Xia goes on to explain that she has chosen Lyra and proceeds to pick tea leaves for her. She describes how the process of brewing the tea is symbolic of what will happen to them during their match. The tea must be brewed at the right temperature for the right amount of time, or everything will be ruined.

Lyra observes that the tea leaves are more delicate than they appear.

Xia ominously remarks that they will break down and crumble, much like what will happen to Lyra next Tuesday when she consumes her.

Xia pours the tea and urges Lyra to drink it, but Lyra refuses. Xia warns that she will show no mercy in their upcoming confrontation.
