WWE Knows There Is No Replacement For John Cena

John Cena is back in WWE for a two-month stay. This time, as Ringside News exclusively reported, we have the SAG-AFTRA Strike to thank for the 16x World Champion’s return to WWE television. The conversation has been out there for years about finding another John Cena, but that is quite a task to achieve.

John Cena is a star from the WWE system who branched out to take over Hollywood. However, the company always aims to find another performer with similar mainstream appeal and marketability. Nick Khan understands that no megastar can replicate the exact success of the man nobody can see.

In a recent interview on The Bill Simmons Podcast, the WWE President discussed why the sports entertainment promotion won’t encounter another Cena. Nevertheless, he maintains confidence that WWE will cultivate additional major stars who will achieve significant success for the company in their own unique manner.

During the conversation, Nick Khan expressed admiration for LA Knight, fueling rumors that LA Knight is poised to receive substantial push. This follows his impressive fan support, merchandise sales, and well-received segments on WWE television, as noted by WWE higher-ups.

“You get a John Cena, and part of the fun is that we just need to find the next John Cena. There is no next John Cena. The next one never looks like the last one. If you look at UFC, same thing… Sometimes one, or an entity, can become fixated on, ‘Hey, this is our next so and so.’ I’ve never seen it work. LA Knight is the first LA Knight, and that’s part of why we think that he’s resonating.”

John Cena recently made a return to “WWE SmackDown” and secured a victory at Superstar Spectacle in India. The iconic superstar is expected to continue appearing in the coming weeks, serving as a nostalgic reminder for fans of the qualities that endeared him to them in the first place.

We will have to see what is next for John Cena during this run. He will be on the Grayson Waller Effect this week on SmackDown, so only time will tell if that results in a match.
