Tony Khan Touts AEW’s Quality of Talent As Its Biggest Strength

There are quite a few talented pro wrestlers in AEW right now who continue to compete on a weekly basis. In fact, Tony Khan has now touted the quality of talent as AEW’s biggest strength.

AEW has already signed major names such as Mercedes MoneKazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay. If there is one thing AEW will always be known for, it’s for the near-infinite depth in their talent pool.

In an interview with Rick Ucchino and Tony Pike on Cincy 360, Tony Khan was asked about what sets AEW apart from other wrestling promotions. He noted how AEW’s quality of talent is truly the company’s biggest strength and mentioned how interviews are far more natural and not scripted, unlike other promotions.

“AEW, we have, what I believe is the most exciting matches and we have great stories happening. We really are a challenging brand. We’re fighting against an establishment and we’ve built a huge fanbase in a pretty quick time. People love the fast-paced exiting action, and the interviews. In AEW, people really feel a connection with the wrestlers. We don’t script the interviews here. People go out, maybe they have bullet points and key pieces of information they are trying to get out, but it feels like you’re hearing a real person talk, which isn’t always the way it feels in some of the competition interviews. That’s one major difference. Our biggest strength is the quality of our athletes and the charisma of our biggest stars. Some of the biggest names in wrestling are in AEW and there is a reason why big free agents want to come to AEW. This is where the best wrestle.”

Tony Khan also recently claimed that AEW has war chest for signing more top free agents. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see whether AEW will be able to properly utilize all of its top talent in the end.
