During that media conference to hype AEW Full Gear, Tony Khan shared insights into his approach to decision-making regarding when and how to hint at special announcements without using adjectives. He explained that they continually assess these factors since they must reveal various aspects such as matches, moments, and signings. At times, they base their choices on what feels suitable in the moment to effectively engage the audience.

Tony Khan cited the instance of creating considerable excitement around the Wembley Stadium show announcement as an example. He also noted their efforts in raising awareness for the December 1st on-sale date. Nevertheless, there are occasions when Khan derives enjoyment from surprising the audience, as seen with the Continental Classic tournament announcement. He pledged to unveil further details about the tournament, including its direction and participants, immediately after Full Gear.



Tony Khan conveyed his enthusiasm for an impending signing, believing it would hold significant importance for AEW. He stressed that there exist diverse approaches to making announcements, with the primary objective being to instill excitement and generate positive enthusiasm about the company.

We will have to see which free agent AEW is signing, and whether they’re a free agent at all. Anything is possible at this point, but AEW may need to deliver big time on one of Tony Khan’s announcements, because there are many things that fans would like to hear about from the company’s President.
