The Rock Completes Day 1 of MMA Training for ‘The Smashing Machine’

The Great One was a huge part of WrestleMania 40, as he and Roman Reigns faced off against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 Saturday, where The Rock and Reigns were victorious. The Rock would then make his presence felt at WrestleMania 40 Sunday by taking out John Cena, but would get chokeslammed by The Undertaker. He’s now removed from wrestling and recently completed day 1 of his MMA training camp for ‘The Smashing Machine.’

The Rock is turning his attention to his latest film project, ‘The Smashing Machine.’ This film tells the story of MMA fighter Mark Kerr, exploring his career in the world of mixed martial arts and his personal battles. The Rock will be taking on the lead role, portraying the complex journey of Kerr.

The Rock took to his Instagram and uploaded a video, sharing his journey into the world of MMA training as he prepares for his role in ‘Smashing Machine.’ He described Day 1 of training camp as a humbling, intense, and motivating experience. The Rock acknowledged the hard work ahead, noting that this role demands more from him physically and mentally than any other he’s undertaken.

I’m learning daily and it’s been a very humbling, intense and motivating journey into this world of combat and becoming,
Mark Kerr – the two-time @UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion, World Vale Tudo Champion.

I’m a hard worker, but I realized that I’d have to work harder with this role than anything I’ve ever worked for in my life.

This physicality is just one part of the larger journey, that is truly a team effort.

Growing and grateful.

The Rock also ruffled feathers in WWE after trying to take credit for WWE’s success. The Rock is expected to wrestle another match in 2024 before WrestleMania 41 as well. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see when The Brahma Bull will make his return to the company again.
