Swerve Strickland’s First Remarks After Mogul Embassy Betrayal on 5/7 AEW Dynamite

Swerve Strickland’s rapid ascent in AEW has been very remarkable, as he is now the reigning AEW World Champion. Sadly, he got betrayed by The Mogul Embassy on Dynamite this week and now Strickland has reacted to the same.

During this week’s AEW Dynamite, Swerve Strickland addressed the recent attack on him by Christian Cage, acknowledging the beatdown and promising to settle the score in their upcoming title match at AEW Double or Nothing. He admitted that if the roles were reversed, he would have retaliated the same way against Christian.

Christian Cage and his entourage, including Killswitch, Shayna, and Nick Wayne, then made their way to the ring. Cage declared himself the top star in AEW and the networks, vowing to claim the AEW World Championship. As they seemed ready to confront Swerve, his backup—Brian Cage, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun—arrived, creating tension between the two groups.

However, the scene took a shocking turn when Swerve’s backup turned on him, brutally attacking the AEW World Champion. They culminated the assault by slamming Swerve through the announcer’s table, leaving Christian Cage watching with satisfaction as his upcoming opponent lay beaten in the ring.

The AEW World Champion took to Twitter and broke his silence on the matter, as he simply tagged the Embassy as fake friends and left it at that.

”Fake friends”

We will have to wait and see how AEW will continue to book Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage’s feud in the coming weeks, as it’s clear that the AEW World Champion is all alone right now.
