Roman Reigns Receives Support for Limited In-Ring Appearances

Roman Reigns has established himself as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. The Tribal Chief has remained infallible since his return back in 2020 and with his dominance came the privilege of rarely competing in matches. He had a shockingly low number of matches in 2023 and now Reigns was defended for that very thing.

The Tribal Chief has made sporadic appearances on WWE television throughout 2023 and competed in even fewer matches. In fact, he has only competed in 11 matches for this year.

While speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T talked about Roman Reigns wrestling only a few matches this year. The WWE Hall of Famer defended Reigns, citing Hulk Hogan from the golden ages of WWE as an example of how frequent matches weren’t important. It is to be noted Booker T believed Roman Reigns wrestled in 22 matches this year when it is actually 11.

“You know, people are gonna find something to complain about all the time. I think one of the biggest complaints was guys work too much… Go back to the old days and just think about how many times Hogan worked on television in a calendar year. Might be less than that, and nobody was bigger than Hogan… Can you imagine a boxer boxing 22 times in a year? Or an MMA fighter fighting 22 times in a year? 22 times is actually a lot. That’s just the way I look at it. So I look at the pros and cons of it. If Roman wasn’t selling no tickets, we could talk.”

As Ringside News exclusively reported, Roman Reigns is now planning to take temporary hiatus from the squared circle. An ex-WWE star also claimed that feuding with Roman Reigns kills careers. We’ll have to see when Reigns will return to WWE television, as it might still be a while.
