Reason Behind MJF vs Rush Not Taking Place at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Revealed

MJF made his shocking return at Double or Nothing, immediately igniting a feud with Rush. This rivalry reached a peak with their match on the June 19th edition of AEW Dynamite. However, many fans were left wondering why this clash didn’t take place at Forbidden Door. The likely reason for the match not taking place at Forbidden Door has now been revealed.

On the June 19th edition of AEW Dynamite, MJF and Rush squared off in an intense match that opened the show. The bout captivated fans with its fast-paced action and back-and-forth exchanges. Ultimately, MJF sealed the victory with a devastating finisher, securing the pinfall over Rush in what was a hard-fought contest.

As MJF celebrated his hard-earned victory, the arena atmosphere intensified when Brian Cage and his associates unexpectedly appeared on the Titantron. Cage announced that his ally, CMLL’s Hechicero, was eager to challenge MJF at the upcoming Forbidden Door event.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about MJF vs RUSH not taking place at Forbidden Door. Meltzer noted that the match was commercial-free as the match could not air at Forbidden Door due to RUSH not being allowed to compete on the show as CMLL would not be happy to have RUSH on the show.

”RUSH vs MJF was commercial free because that match couldn’t air on PPV. RUSH is not allowed on Forbidden Door. CMLL would not be happy with RUSH on that show.”

We will have to wait and see how the MJF will fare against Hechicero at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, as fans are somewhat disappointed MJF didn’t end up facing RUSH at the event instead.
