The NWA got a lot of attention unexpected attention when James Mitchell was part of a cocaine-filled angle on one of their pay-per-view events recently. This did not turn out the way NWA had hoped as it only gave the company a lot of bad publicity, with reports noting the whole angle cost NWA a deal with The CW. That said, an NWA star has claimed that talent in the company haven’t been told about getting a deal with the CW.
It was previously reported that the NWA may have tainted their deal with the CW over that cocaine spot at the NWA’s recent PPV event, Samhain. It was then announced that the CW would become NXT’s home from next year, due to which Billy Cogan got criticized by fans and pro wrestlers alike, especially Eric Bischoff.
While speaking on the Wrestling Outlaws podcast, EC3 talked about NWA possibly costing themselves a deal with the CW over the cocaine angle. EC3 stated that none of the NWA talent have been informed about any kind of TV deal with the CW.
“We haven’t been told we are getting a TV deal with the CW network. We haven’t been told anything of the details, other than it looks like it’s on the horizon.”
Billy Corgan doubled down on the NWA landing TV deal with a top 20 network recently as well. Regardless, only time will tell whether the NWA will end up bagging a TV deal somewhere down the line, as the CW is no longer an option.
