Mark Briscoe, one of AEW’s most beloved stars, earned shot at the TNT Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. However, a botched spot during the match nearly resulted in serious injury for Briscoe, who later attributed the error to a referee’s actions.

One of the most dangerous moments occurred when Briscoe mistimed a jump from the top of the ladder, aiming to land on Perry, who was positioned on a table. Briscoe’s fall resulted in him hitting the table face-first and his legs striking the ground hard, causing concern among fans.
Briscoe took to Twitter to share video of the spot from a different angle, revealing that the botch was caused by the referee inadvertently raising the ladder by six inches. He referred to the incident as a “trajectorial miscalculation” and expressed his frustration.
“The phrase of the day is ‘trajectorial miscalculation.’ Jack Perry, you lucky sum*****, this 6 inch ‘ladder hop’ is the only reason I didn’t squash you like a bug and win the TNT title at #AEWForbiddenDoor. Like the old saying goes… the sun shines on a dog’s ass every now and then. I’ll see you when I see you, son.”
In the same match, Lio Rush suffered an injury, adding to the concerns over the high-risk nature of the contest. Despite the botched spot, Briscoe’s resilience and determination remain evident. Fans hope that Briscoe will avoid such dangerous maneuvers in the future for the sake of his health and career longevity.
