During the pandemic and leading up to WrestleMania 36, Roman Reigns chose to step away from WWE to prioritize his health and safety, as well as that of his family. While WWE programming continued, Reigns remained at home.
It wasn’t until SummerSlam 2020, with WWE transitioning to the ThunderDome, that Reigns made his dramatic return. His alliance with Paul Heyman was unveiled on the following episode of WWE SmackDown, marking the beginning of his reign as the Tribal Chief.
While speaking to Raj Prashad of Uproxx, Paul Heyman revealed that Roman Reigns considered himself retired during his absence as part of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“He considered himself retired. He wasn’t coming back. I was executive director of Monday Night Raw, and Roman was assigned to SmackDown. But every week I heard all the SmackDown writers and producers and personnel saying, ‘God, I just wish Roman would come back.’ And I would ask, has anybody talked to him? Yeah, he says he’s retired. He’s not coming back. No way. Thanks a lot. Done. Finished. Goodbye. So the fact that he came back for this run, for what we have accomplished, is nothing short of a miracle because as far as he was concerned, he was out.”
Roman Reigns is set to headline both nights of WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia. On night one, he will team up with The Rock to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Then, on night two, Reigns will defend his WWE Universal Championship against Rhodes in the main event. Only time will tell if Roman Reigns will walk out of WrestleMania 40 as the champion in the end.

Since then, she has managed to impress the wrestling audience with her newfound opportunity under a completely new gimmick, which also has led to mesmerizing the audience not only with her in-ring acumen but also her immensely gorgeous looks.
Recently, Ash by Elegance leveled accusations against the current rising star of WWE SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton, claiming that she tends to steal moves and gimmicks from other wrestlers, dubbing her as a “knock-off Barbie.”

]]>Randy Orton made his return at Survivor Series back in November last year and in the months since then, firmly established himself as one of the top Superstars in WWE again. In fact, it appears Rev Theory recorded a revamped version of his theme song without even knowing he would be back.
It was previously reported that WWE was contemplating music change for Randy Orton. The concept involved initially reverting to his old music to re-establish his presence, followed by the introduction of new tunes in subsequent performances.
However, WWE ultimately decided to nix the idea entirely and stick with ‘Voices’ by Rev Theory. While speaking on the High Spot Podcast, Rev Theory guitarist Julien Jorgensen revealed the reason behind re-recording their song at the time. He explained that he felt the song needed to be better, without knowing about Randy Orton’s injury or what was happening in wrestling.
“It just so happened that I literally said, ‘I want to re-record this song.’ I hadn’t watched wrestling for a few years. I had no idea Randy was even hurt. I had no idea what was going on. I just said to myself, ‘this song needs to be better. It needs a new version.’ That’s how I felt. Whatever was guiding that just so happened to line up. I wish I could tell you we knew, but it’s almost crazier that we didn’t know. Once we released it, everyone was like, ‘Do they know something?’ We were like, ‘Yeah, do we know something? S***. We should start trolling ourselves.’ So we did. We started trolling ourselves and we thought it was hilarious. People thought we knew and we were in on it. I hate to break it to people, but it makes it more fun the fact that we had no idea and it was an inner vision that pushed that to come out. ”
Despite the coincidence, they embraced the speculation from fans, even though they didn’t actually know anything. Jorgensen emphasized that it was an inner vision that drove them to re-record the song, making the experience even more enjoyable.
”It’s a greater picture thing. We get pushed and moved to do certain things beyond our control and it just so happened that it lined up because of that. I didn’t overthink it because we didn’t know something. We weren’t let in on it and we rode that all the way until it came out. We were like, ‘Is he done? He might be done. We don’t know if he’s coming back.’ He came back and jacked. He looked awesome. We couldn’t have been happier.”
Even Randy Orton confirmed that WWE had plans to alter his iconic theme song. The Viper is currently scheduled to square off against Logan Paul and Kevin Owens for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 40, so we will have to wait and see how that match will turn out for The Viper.

At AEW Worlds End, The Salt of the Earth collided against Samoa Joe with his World Title on the line, despite going into the match with an injury. The ending of the bout saw Joe dethrone MJF for the championship and left beaten and battered at the hands of Adam Cole and his Undisputed Kingdom faction.
Since then, MJF has been absent from AEW television programming, sparking rumors of his potential exit from the company, amidst the onset of the famously dubbed ‘Bidding War of 2024’ between WWE and AEW.
It was later reported that MJF was taking time to heal injuries and also get treatment done for his shoulder. Another one suggested that MJF was still rehabbing, while his process of recovery was slower than expected.
However, according to a new report by PWInsider, there is a belief that Maxwell would continue to remain a top fixture for AEW and met with the company officials, a day after the Big Business event in Boston to possibly begin talks for a new contract.
“MJF is still working to recover from his multiple injuries. While he is not listed on the AEW roster, the belief is he remains locked into a deal with the company. The day after AEW Big Business, MJF was in Boston to meet with AEW officials. There is no word when he will be returning to the ring.”
With the report concluding that there is no timetable for the return of the former AEW World Champion, we will have to wait for MJF to be medically cleared and wrap up contract negotiations before seeing him again on their televised programming.
What are your thoughts on MJF’s meeting with AEW officials recently? Could it be to negotiate a new contract? Sound off in the comments!
