WWE is a professional wrestling promotion based in Stamford, Connecticut.[1] WWE personnel consists of professional wrestlers, managers, play-by-play and color commentators, ring announcers, interviewers, referees, trainers, producers, script writers, and various other positions. Executives and board members are also listed.

Overview

As of 2021, WWE employs over 800 full-time employees to handle its business operations, as well as contract with various vendors and service providers.[2] However, WWE describes their performers as independent contractors [1] with contracts typically ranging from developmental to multi-year.[3]

Brands

Since the reintroduction of WWE's brand extension in 2016, performers are assigned to one of three primary brands—Raw, SmackDown, and NXT.[4][5][6] Some performers may be assigned to a specialty brand under the NXT banner—these brands include 205 Live, which is for male wrestlers 205 lbs. and under (designated by WWE as cruiserweights), and NXT UK, which is for performers based in the United Kingdom.

Performers primarily appear on Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, and NXT, while cruiserweight wrestlers appear on 205 Live and wrestlers from NXT UK appear on their own weekly show, respectively. Performers may also appear on WWE's other weekly television programming, as well as pay-per-views, and on untelevised live events.

Personnel in WWE's developmental system are assigned to train at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. UK-based developmental wrestlers train at the UK Performance Center in London, England.

WWE also has partnerships with some of Europe's independent wrestling promotions (Scotland's Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW), England's Progress Wrestling, and Germany's Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw)). Wrestlers from those groups may also make periodic appearances at WWE events and on WWE programming.

Championships

For the most part, the brands have their own distinct championships, but some select titles are shared among various brands, such as the WWE 24/7 Championship, NXT Cruiserweight Championship, and the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.
