WWE has experienced significant changes in personnel since its merger with UFC to form TKO Group Holdings. These changes include the release of several employees, one of whom was McKenzie Mitchell last year. Interestingly, it appears that Mitchell’s husband has mentioned that she is interested in returning to WWE
McKenzie Mitchell, who appeared on-screen as a host for WWE on their various media outlets, and NXT, announced last year that she was let go from the company but had nothing but positive things to say about them.
Vic Joseph, who continues to provide commentary for WWE NXT every Tuesday alongside WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, recently shared his thoughts on the emotional impact of his wife McKenzie Mitchell’s departure from WWE in an interview with TV Insider.
Joseph expressed that the initial shows after Mitchell’s exit were difficult for him emotionally, as she is his best friend and her absence from the events was felt deeply. He mentioned missing not only his wife but also their close friends such as Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, and Tommaso Ciampa.
Despite the challenges, Joseph found solace in knowing that Mitchell was still supportive and waiting for him at home. He revealed that Mitchell continues to watch WWE and remains a fan, expressing her desire to return and be part of the WWE family again.
“The first few shows I went to it was sad because she is my best friend. Not having my wife there, and there or a Johnny Gargano to talk to or Candice LeRae or Tommaso Ciampa. The list goes on and on.”
“It bummed me out, but then I knew every day when I’d come home, she would be there.”
“Here’s the thing. McKenzie still watches. She is still a fan of it. She still wants to come back and be part of this family. Time will tell, but that was definitely an emotional time.”
“Right before that, my father died. And so when I did NXT Tuesday, that was the day my father passed away in the morning.”
“Nobody knew because I didn’t put anything out there until after the show. She was there with me. Shawn [Michaels] was there with me. It was a tough stretch, but we got through it.”
In the meantime, she also bagged big role in ‘The Last Match’ series as well. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see whether McKenzie Mitchell will return to WWE someday.
