The WWE Royal Rumble event has always been one of the most enthralling shows for a long time. A prime highlight for the pay-per-view has always been surprise entrants in the 30-person name-sake over-the-top-rope battle royal.
The 2024 Women’s Rumble match saw the appearance of TNA Knockouts champion, Jordynne Grace. Crossing the Forbidden door, Grace stepped inside the WWE ring to earn a WWE Women’s championship match at WrestleMania 40.
Big Momma Pump entered the bout at #5, displaying an excellent in-ring showing and lasting an impressive 20 minutes before being eliminated by the EST of WWE, Bianca Belair.
According to a new report by Fightful, WWE reached out to multiple companies for surprise entrants in the Rumble matches including TNA. Jordynne had a medical prior to the show on Monday and made it to Royal Rumble rehearsals in Florida on Thursday. Moreover, it also stated that Jordynne Grace is still signed with TNA, and putting together her appearance was a smooth process.
“Jordynne Grace made her WWE debut in the Royal Rumble. TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace was at the show as a major surprise. Fightful had heard that WWE reached out to outside companies about potential Royal Rumble surprises entrants. We’re told that WWE contacted TNA this past weekend to inquire, and everything went through TNA. Grace is still signed with TNA.“
“We’re told that Grace had a physical and blood work on Monday, then flew to Florida Thursday to participate in the Royal Rumble rehearsals. There were some within TNA who said they heard this was a possibility earlier this month when there were broader WWE/TNA rumors. Those we spoke to in WWE said both TNA and Jordynne Grace were easy to deal with and accommodating during the process.”
Jordynne Grace became the second woman from TNA to appear in a WWE Royal Rumble match after Mickie James, who entered the 2022 edition of the show, also as the Women’s champion of the company.
With another crossover taking place, it could be interesting to see more such appearances and exciting in-ring bouts taking place in the future.
