Gunther’s Reacts to Kazuchika Okada’s Possible WWE Transition

Gunther has welcomed all competition en route to becoming the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental champion of all time, so he seems more than excited to see Japanese sensation Kazuchika Okada get a taste of that competition.

Kazuchika Okada has emerged as one of the biggest names in the Japanese wrestling circuit. The Rainmaker’s contract expired earlier this month and is identified as one of the hottest free agents in the market.

During recent conversation with Nick Hausman of HausOfWrestling.com during the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble weekend, the current WWE Intercontinental champion had massive praise for Okada and believed that he would find great competition should he choose to sign with WWE.

“I think Okada is fantastic. I always love Japanese wrestling. When I grew up in professional wrestling, understanding everything, I always enjoyed Japanese wrestling the most. I was more of an All Japan guy than a New Japan guy, to be honest. But yeah, he’s one of the best in the world, and if he joins WWE, he’s very welcome to, and I think he finds great competition here.”

Multiple reports stated that Kazuchika Okada is in talks with WWE and its rival competition regarding his next destination in the wrestling world. However, the global juggernaut looks to be the front-runner in getting the former NJPW star to their landscape.

Moreover, a recent vignette during the 2024 NXT Vengeance Day was believed to be in reference to Japan and potentially pointed towards Okada’s arrival. So it would be interesting to see what happens as his choice remains uncertain at the moment.
