Gable Steveson signed deal with WWE some time ago, but it took a significant amount of time for him to make his in-ring debut. Recently, he has been competing in dark matches, but he has not been featured on WWE television for a while. Although his WWE television status remains unclear, his participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics has been confirmed.
Gable Steveson made a surprise appearance at the WWE SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution event in Vancouver. He competed in a dark match against Cedric Alexander before the main event, showcasing his wrestling abilities to the live audience. However, he did not have any further involvement in the event beyond that match.
As noted earlier, Gable Steveson and Tamyra Mensah-Stock were listed for the Olympic trials scheduled for April 19th and 20th at Penn State. Naturally, fans wondered if they would compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
According to The Wrestling Observer Daily Update, Gable Steveson and Tamyra Mensah-Stock will not be competing in the Olympic trials this weekend, despite both having qualified. This news comes as a surprise, as many expected them to compete for spots on the U.S. Olympic wrestling team.
The only wrestlers known to have a WWE deal and competing in the Olympic trials are Mason Parris, who has been seeded into the finals by winning the nationals, and Greg Kerkvliet, who is seeded No. 3 in a tournament where the winner faces Parris in a best-of-three bouts series.
”While nobody expected them to compete, with the seedings announced for the Olympic trials this weekend, Gable Steveson and Tamyra Mensah-Stock of WWE are not listed as competing. Both had qualified.
Mensah-Stock has been wrestling on some NXT shows while Steveson hasn’t wrestled in the past few weeks that I’m aware of.
Almost all the best American wrestlers, men and women, are competing for spots on the three Olympic teams in tournaments on Friday and Saturday at Penn State.
The USA Network will be airing prime time both nights, and Peacock will be airing all the matches throughout both days.

Mensah-Stock made her highly anticipated in-ring debut at the NXT live event on March 30 and has been getting rave reviews backstage as well. It remains to be seen what will become of both Stock and Gable Steveson in the end.
