Ex-WCW Star Makes Appearance in Deadpool vs. Wolverine Trailer

Professional wrestlers and movies have a longstanding relationship, even when it comes to Marvel movies as the likes of Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins have a relationship with the comic book giant. In fact, it appears a former WCW star actually made an appearance in the ‘Deadpool vs. Wolverine trailer.

Tyler Mane, the former WCW wrestler turned actor, has made a return to the screen in the highly anticipated trailer for Deadpool Vs. Wolverine. Mane reprises his role as Victor Creed, also known as Sabretooth, one of Wolverine’s fiercest enemies in Marvel Comics. The trailer hints at an intense confrontation between the two mutants.

Mane is best known for his acting, especially for his role as Sabretooth in the early 2000s X-Men movies. However, before his acting career took off, he had a stint in professional wrestling. As Big Sky in WCW, he competed in various matches, with one of his most notable appearances being at WCW Fall Brawl 1993 where he faced Charlie Norris. Mane also wrestled against top names in the business such as Davey Boy Smith and Ric Flair and competed in other wrestling promotions including CMLL, EMLL, and AJPW.

Deadpool Vs. Wolverine is the third installment in the Deadpool series and stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, the film promises to alter the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jackman’s return as Wolverine is particularly noteworthy since the character was last seen in 2017’s Logan, where he met his end. Deadpool Vs. Wolverine is scheduled for release on July 24, so we’ll have to see how the film will turn out in the end.
