Dominik Mysterio’s Plan Backfires as Liv Morgan Retains Her Title on 7/1 WWE RAW

For weeks on Monday Night RAW, Liv Morgan has been constantly in pursuit of Dominik Mysterio. However, as her recent rival, Zelina Vega, pointed out, she has seemingly ignored her duties as the reigning WWE Women’s World Champion.

On the July 1 edition of Monday Night RAW, Morgan was scheduled to defend her championship against Zelina Vega and even had some leisure time with The Judgment Day in their pad before leaving for her match.

The women’s division match with the coveted prize hanging in the balance saw both Morgan and Vega display an instant classic wrestling match. Moreover, Dominik Mysterio also came down to the ringside, followed by his father, Rey Mysterio, to even the field. Elsewhere, the bout was fast-paced and had the audience in attendance hooked to the sight of the enthralling action.

The closing moments of the title match saw Dominik Mysterio tossing a chair to Vega for using it on Liv. However, that interference, reminiscent of what he did at the WWE King of the Ring PLE, cost Zelina as Liv Morgan hit the Oblivion to claim the pinfall and retain her championship and dedicated her victory to her “Daddy Dominik’ in a post-match interview.
