Donovan Dijak had a memorable run in NXT last year, but his transition to the main roster was cut short following the WWE Draft. Now officially a free agent after parting ways with WWE, he has finally made his in-ring return.
Dijak’s WWE contract finally expired on June 28th, officially marking him as free agent. He was free to do what he wanted, and that’s why he made an appearance backstage at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
However, Dijak had yet to compete in the ring after his WWE exit but that was rectified recently as the former WWE Superstar made his in-ring return at the Beyond Americanrana 2024: Where Eagles Dare event.
Dijak squared off against Aaron Rourke in a near-20 minute bout which saw Dijak give it his all. Dijak would ultimately secure the victory with a thunderous Feast Your Eyes, thus making his in-ring return a successful one.
Dijak also recently stated that Tony Khan is aware of his interest in joining AEW. Regardless, we will have to wait and see what’s next in store for the former WWE Superstar, as the world is truly his oyster.
