Deonna Purrazzo Wrote Resignation Letter to WWE But Never Sent It

AEW has brought in a lot of people over the past several months, and Deonna Purrazzo’s debut with the company did bring a fair amount of buzz. She is now in All Elite Wrestling, trying to bring herself to a much higher level, but the former TNA Knockouts Champion almost never saw that moment in her career.

Deonna Purrazzo recently admitted that, before one of her major career events, her debut on RAW in 2019, she almost quit wrestling. During an interview on the Irish Wrestling Podcast, Deonna said she had a resignation letter ready for WWE.

“I had an email in my drafts to send to say like this isn’t working out for anyone. You know, I think it would be best for me to move on and be released.”

Deonna felt stuck and unsure about her future in WWE, leading her to draft the resignation letter. Before sending it, she received an unexpected booking for a match on Raw.

“I got that email to go to Raw, and I was like, guess I shouldn’t quit.”

Deonna’s debut on Monday Night Raw was a turning point. Teaming up with her friend Chelsea Green, she faced Asuka in a memorable match. She also spoke about how much that moment meant to her.

“It was very, very cool. And couple that with the fact that Chelsea and I got to do it together… It’s one of the best days of my career.”

After Deonna Purrazzo eventually departed from WWE, she achieved significant milestones, including winning the Knockouts World Championship in Impact Wrestling and making a name for herself in various promotions before finally landing in AEW.

Deonna’s run in All Elite Wrestling has been noteworthy. Her AEW debut featured a main event match on Dynamite against Mercedes Martinez. Although Mercedes Mone’s debut for the company may have overshadowed Purrazzo a bit, she is still working hard every day to maintain her momentum.
