The 4/16 episode of WWE NXT turned out to be a solid show with a lot of action and intriguing segments featured throughout the show. This included Carmelo Hayes squaring off against Trick Williams in a steel cage match in the main event. After the show went off the air, Hayes flipped off the fans in attendance.
The former NXT Champion faced off against his ex-best friend Trick Williams in a Steel Cage Match tonight, a follow-up to Williams’ victory over Hayes at Stand and Deliver. The match’s conclusion was dramatic, with Carmello’s security team trying to climb the cage. Williams met them at the top and knocked them all down.
Then, another guard entered the cage wielding a chair. As Trick handled the guard, Hayes grabbed the chair. However, Trick Williams outsmarted Hayes and hit him with the Trick Shot through the chair, securing the win.
After Carmello Hayes lost the match to Williams, the live crowd at the Performance Center showed their appreciation by chanting “Thank you Melo” as he remained in the ring.
Despite the crowd’s gratitude, when Hayes got up to leave the cage, he chose not to acknowledge their support. Instead, he made a series of dismissive hand gestures, essentially indicating that he didn’t care about them.
The crowd’s sendoff for Hayes is based on the expectation that he is moving up to the main roster in the upcoming WWE Draft. Regardless, we will have to wait and see which brand Carmelo Hayes will end up becoming a part of at the end of the month.
