Brian Gewirtz Claims The Rock Isn’t Holding WrestleMania 40 Documentary Hostage

Seven Bucks SVP Brian Gewirtz has shed some light on the anticipated WrestleMania 40 documentary that has yet to see the light of day.

Initially slated to premiere on Wednesday, April 10, following WrestleMania 40 Saturday, the documentary was set to offer viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the event’s buildup, with a focus on key figures such as Cody Rhodes, The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins.

However, over a month later, the documentary remains unreleased, leaving fans wondering about its fate.

During an appearance on the Masked Man Show, Gewirtz addressed the delay, attributing it to unforeseen circumstances. He clarified that the delay was not due to any reluctance from The Rock to approve the content but rather a timing issue, with the documentary requiring more time for finalization than initially anticipated.

Gewirtz reassured fans that the documentary is indeed in the works and has evolved from its initial 11-minute format to over an hour in length, promising an “awesome” viewing experience once it’s ready. While an exact release date remains unknown, Gewirtz hinted that it would be available in some form “pretty soon.”

“Believe it or not, there is an awesome (documentary). The Rock isn’t holding hostage until he has approval of every frame. I think there was an error in terms of promoting it so soon because it wasn’t ready to come out. That was an error that was made. This is a doc that went from 11 minutes to 45 minutes and now it’s over an hour. It’s pretty awesome. It will be coming out, in some form, pretty soon, is my understanding,” said Gewirtz.

As fans eagerly await further updates, Ringside News remains committed to providing more details on the documentary’s release as soon as they become available.
