Belief That MJF Should Not Be Held Responsible for AEW’s Dwindling Ratings

MJF has earned a reputation as one of the defining heels of the current generation of pro wrestlers, and it’s not hard to see why. With that said, MJF has now been defended against accusations that he is to blame for AEW’s dwindling ratings.

MJF made his highly anticipated return at Double or Nothing and immediately began feud with Rush, which has turned out to be one of AEW’s most compelling feuds at the moment.

On the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan expressed his belief that the former AEW World Champion is the standout highlight on television and emphasized that MJF should not be held responsible for any declines in AEW show ratings.

“As far as MJF, he may not be a draw according to numbers but that’s one entitlement on the show, not him because he’s usually the best thing on the show. You’re either uninformed a hater or both, or a mark.”

AEW President Tony Khan is also confident that MJF will permanently stay with the company. In the meantime, MJF is scheduled to face Rush on the June 19th edition of AEW Dynamite, so we’ll have to see how he will fare in the match.
