Belief That AEW Didn’t Do Enough to Build Up Darby Allin As A Star

Darby Allin has been part of AEW since the very beginning and has certainly seen success in the company, but it appears some believe AEW didn’t build up his star power to his full potential.

Darby Allin has been with AEW since its inception and has achieved significant success, holding titles such as the AEW World Tag Team and TNT Championships. He notably teamed up with Sting during the latter’s tenure in All Elite Wrestling.

Booker T recently expressed his views on his Hall of Fame podcast, suggesting that Darby Allin should have achieved greater stardom in AEW by now. Booker T also indicated that he believes Darby did not benefit as much as expected from his association with Sting.

“Look at Darby Allin. Look at Darby. I mean, over the last five years this company has been in existence. Darby Allin — I mean, he’s had a great run with Sting. I don’t want to that away from him or anything like that. But I think Sting got more of the rub that Darby Allin did. I mean, I could be wrong. I could be wrong there, but I feel that way. I don’t feel like Darby Allen has been built to the star that he could have been five years later.”

We have reported on Darby Allin’s in-ring return status while he remains off television. Regardless, Allin will always be a mainstay of AEW television when he is around and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
