Backstage Reaction After Ronda Rousey’s Surprise ROH Debut

Ronda Rousey captured the pro wrestling world’s attention when she departed from WWE. She can make her own schedule, and do as she pleases now. That included a surprise appearance during this week’s ROH taping.

Ronda Rousey and Marina Shafir teamed up to take on Billy Starkz and ROH Women’s Champion Athena. This was a big moment that is expected to air on ROH TV next week. Rousey even came out to Joan Jett’s Bad Reputation as her entrance music.

The UFC Hall of Fame legend and former WWE Women’s Champion unexpectedly made her debut, teaming up with Marina Shafir. The two Four Horsewomen members participated in a tag-team match against ROH Women’s Champion Athena and Billie Starkz, which was the same match Rousey had at the Wrestling REVOLVER: UNREAL event the previous Thursday.

Following the match, PW Insider noted that Ronda Rousey seemed very happy about her match. She circled the ring post-match and took photos with fans in the crowd at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA. By all appearances, everyone really enjoyed this surprise.

It is anticipated that the Ronda Rousey match will be broadcast on next week’s Thanksgiving episode of ROH TV. We will have to see how it looks when the show airs. Obviously, this was a big moment for ROH that nobody saw coming.

We previously noted that there is currently no word on whether Ronda Rousey has signed any type of contract. We will let you know the moment we have any new information on the subject.
