Austin Theory Throws Down Challenge to The Rock

The Rock and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin had quite a confrontation twenty years ago. 2003 was a long time ago, and now there is a new Theory in WWE, but The Rock still stopped by SmackDown for a visit, which sparked a new potential matchup.

Austin Theory interrupted Pat McAfee’s promo on SmackDown, and Denver fans immediately wanted him to shut up. Then The Rock came out to do just that, but in the process, Austin Theory also took a shot at Steve Austin.

The man who beat John Cena at WrestleMania 39 stated that there is a new Austin to face The Rock now. The Great One then ate a spinebuster and a People’s Elbow. Pat McAfee also gave him a People’s Elbow for good measure.

Austin Theory is apparently not finished with The Rock. He re-posted a meme of himself in the ring with the Great One, along with another photo of Austin vs “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in 2003. That included a nice little caption where Theory lobbied for this match.

“Give the people what they want.”

It’s unclear which WWE fans are asking for Austin Theory vs The Rock, but everyone would love to see the People’s Champion back in the ring regardless. Only time will tell if that happens.

Ringside News exclusively reported that The Rock has many reasons for wanting to make his return to WWE. We will keep an eye on that story to see if there are any new developments.

Austin Theory has been quietly booked in an incredible way, and some fans might overlook him. The former United States Champion has a lot going for him and a ton of potential. It’s unclear if a match against The Rock is possible, but he certainly has a lot to look forward to in his future.
