AEW Star Needs Surgery After Devastating ‘Career-Ending Injury’

On the April 27, 2024 episode of AEW Rampage, former best friends Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor faced off in a brutal parking lot brawl. The intense and bloody match ended with Taylor on the losing side. After the events of Dynamite this week, it was confirmed Taylor will require surgery.

On the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy revealed that Chuck Taylor “will never wrestle again” following his brutal match against Trent Beretta on AEW Rampage. This announcement shocked fans in a big way as well.

In an AEW exclusive video, Beretta discussed his thoughts on Chuck Taylor’s condition and revealed that Taylor “needs surgery.” Beretta made a harsh statement, making it clear that Taylor’s career was over for good.

“Man, I feel good. I mean, I’m beat to shit, but this is the best I’ve felt in years.

“Chuck Taylor’s career is over. He needs surgery. He’s never gonna wrestle again.

“You want me to feel sorry? Sorry that the guy that rode my coattails, coasted by on my coattails for ten years is done?

“Chuck hasn’t had his head in the game for a long time now. So I took him out of the game, and I’m not sorry.

“I’m not sorry. Orange Cassidy, it’s your turn now.”

It is very clear that Trent Beretta and Orange Cassidy will do battle inside the squared circle and it will likely take place at AEW Double or Nothing, so we’ll have to see how their feud will develop in the coming weeks.
